Are you a Jamaican national with academic excellence with 3.5 gpa and above studying Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or a related course at the tertiary level
looking for financial support?. You can apply for the universal service fund (USF) scholarship 2026 academic year.
The Universal Service Fund Scholarship is open to Jamaicans from low-income families (Path Beneficiary). It aims to increase access to ICT, build local capacity, and equip the next generation to drive Jamaica’s digital transformation.
Who Can Apply for the Universal Service Fund Scholarship?
Check out the following requirements to be eligible for the USF Scholarship:
- applicants must be Jamaican nationals
- currently residing in Jamaica.
- under the age of 25 as of August 31, 2025;
- have been a path beneficiary, a Tap grad, or a USF ICT Club Member (minimum 1 year).
Academic Requirement
- You must be accepted into or enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme in ICT at a registered Jamaican tertiary institution.
- must also maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and above in academic standing.
- demonstrate financial need, and show active involvement in their communities.
Additional Requirements:
You need to submit a 500 words essay on the following:
- Your financial need
- Your passion for ICT
- Explain how you will drive national development

The universal service fund scholarship is a competitive award that require an excellent academic performance and often involves specific application processes and essay submissions.

What GPA Do I Need For USF Scholarships ?
To be eligible for the USF Scholarship you must have a GPA equal to 3.5 or above.
