The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is offering both a full scholarship and a partial scholarship sponsoring young talents around the globe.

International student who wants to conduct research, pay an academic visit, study on joint programs from a foreign university or pursue a masters or PHD degree should apply for the UCAS Scholarship.

The UCAS Scholarship international scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, travel costs, medical insurance, application fee, and living expenses of ¥3000 for Master students and ¥3500 for Doctoral students.

Details of full Scholarship

 

a) Tuition waiver

PhD students are exempted of ¥40,000 per year tuition fee.
while Master students are exempted from ¥30,000 per year tuition fee.

b) Monthly stipend:

A monthly stipend between ¥2,500 – ¥3500 is provided for Doctoral students and ¥2,000 – ¥3000 is provided for Master students.

c) Accommodation:

UCAS provides basic accommodation to awardees from faculties/institutes located in Beijing.

While Host institutes would help to provide accommodation or solve accommodation-related problems for awardees from CAS institutes located outside Beijing,

d) Medical Insurance:

The insurance premium is ¥800 per year .

e) Application Fee:

Students are exempted from paying application processing fee of ¥600.

f) Duration

Master/Doctoral students: no longer than 36 months.

Partial Scholarship

The partial scholarship covers a) Tuition waiver, d) Medical Insurance, and e) Application fee.

Duration of Scholarship

However the duration for the Master/Doctoral students: no longer than 36 months; while students on joint programs and Regular and Senior visiting students: 6-24months.

Eligible applicants must:

• NOT hold Chinese citizenship, with a valid foreign passport, friendly to China and abiding by the laws and decrees of China, and UCAS rules and regulations.
• Be proficient in English or Chinese;
• For PhD program applicants: be born after 1^st January 1991 (inclusive);
• For Master’s program applicants: be born after 1^st January 1996 (inclusive);
• For Senior visiting students: be born after 1^st January 1981 (inclusive);
• For Regular visiting students: be born after 1^st January 1986 (inclusive);
• For joint program applicants: no age limitation.
• Meet the admission criteria for international students of UCAS.
• NOT take up other assignments during the period of his/her scholarship.
