The Chinese Government is providing scholarships opportunities to teachers, international students, and scholars to study and carry out research in a Chinese university

Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students 2026

Benefits of the Chinese government scholarship for international students will includes:

 

Tuition Fee

Successful PhD scholarship applicants are exempted from the tuition fee of ยฅ40,000 per year. and Successful Masterโ€™s scholarship applicants are exempted from the tuition fee of ย ยฅ30,000 per year.

 

Application fee

Successful scholarship applicants are exempted from the payment of ยฅ600 application fee.


Monthly stipend

Successful PhD scholarship applicant will receive a monthly stipend of ยฅ5,000. And Successful Master scholarship applicant will receive a monthly stipend of ยฅ3,500.


Accommodation Fee

Successful scholarship applicants will receive free accommodation at the UCAS Beijing campus.For those who want to live off Campus, an accommodation subsidy of ยฅ700 per month for masterโ€™s students or general visiting students, and no more than ยฅ1000 per month for doctoral students/senior visiting students.


Medical Insurance

A medical insurance of ยฅ800 per successful scholarship applicant .

 

Sponsorship Period

Master students: 36 months (with no extension)

PhD students: 36 months (with permitted extension of no more than 12 months.

Chinese Government Scholarship Requirements for International Students

 

  • Applicant should not be ย a Chinese citizen.
  • Be proficient in English or Mandarin;
  • For masterโ€™s programs applicant: should be no more than 35 years old at the time of application and must have received a degree or diploma equivalent to a Chinese bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • For PhD programs applicant: applicant should be no more than 40 years old and must have received a degree or diploma equivalent to a Chinese masterโ€™s degree.
  • Applicants should meet the general admission criteria for international students.
  • Applicants must not have accepted any other sponsorship at the time of application and cannot accept any other sponsorship during the period of this scholarship.
  • Applicants should study full time in the research institute he/she is enrolled in and are not allowed to take any other job during his/her studies.

Note: Scholarship applicants should not currently be pursuing a Master’s or PHD program at any Chinese university/institution to avoid disqualification.
